I can has CC?
October 28, 2008
Woah, hella days since I last logged. Since my last update, I’ve established myself as a bloodsail admiral, complete with matching outfit and title. It’s really not that hard after getting to hostile. But anways, WotLK is coming out in a few weeks and patch 3.0.2 recently went live to prepare for it. and OMG it is awesome. I haven’t heard much about restos other than gaining better burst heals capabilities and a lifebloom nerf. Chicken’s in raids have ’caused “HOLYSHI-” esque reactions. And feral?I love it. The only thing I don’t love is having different cat/bear specs. But I suppose with dual-specs coming with WotLK, it shouldn’t be too painful. Also, roots and feral swiftness work indoors (wewt melee CC) Onwards!
Thoughts on kitty changes:
I played kitty with a 0/50/11, skipping out on berzerk for now. Rend and Tear is the sex and will defintely be a must have for all feral DPS. +50% crit chance for ferocious bite and +20% shred damage on bleeding targets. That alone has provided a substantial increase in DPS (Q’D dailies only take half an hour now if I don’t get ganked). To help us out with those longer fights, 3 points into King of the Jungle now causes to Tiger’s Fury to instantly grant 60 energy. Primal Precesion gives 10 expertise and finishers refund 80% if they miss. Infected wounds is awesome for soloing and PvP. Shred maul and mangle cause -25% movement and -10% attack speed. The effects stacks twice. As far as heroics/raiding goes, I’ve heard mixed reactions to the talent. A few bears/warriors prefer normal attack speed for the purpose of rage generation. TBH, I really don’t think it’s that much of a problem. Berzerk cuts all energy costs in half for 15 seconds. I only took this as part of my bear spec so didnt get to see it at full power yet. But even without all the extra damage talents, 15 seconds was more than enough time to down a 67 elite with 20k hp. I had it down to 60% by the time pounce wore off. As far as PvP use goes, this is not exactly an “I win” button. It does break fear and provides fear immunity, but it can be dispelled and is vulnerable to all other CC. It only counts as an “I win” button if you know exactly when to use it. With that said, Omen of Clarity should take priority over Berzerk(and no, you can’t have both) for pve cats. And also, OoC is now passive if you’re wondering where it went.
BEARRRRR FOOOOOORM:
First and foremost, I’d like to say ARMOR NERF! Except blizzard has rectified the situation in a rather interesting manner and in the end, removing armor bonuses on PvE leather didn’t hurt too much (although it was painful to have to toss out my two week old heavy clefthoof set). 3/3 Protector of the Pack and a full party now reduces damage taken in bear form by 12% (hooray magic mitigation). Natural Reaction provides 6% dodge and also gives 3 rage for each dodged attack. This means bears can now stack an f*ton of dodge and not have to worry as much about rage generation. Both of these talents and the removal of crushing blows have more or less made up for any lost armor. In addition to gear changes, bears have gotten a few more toys to play with. Berzerk in bear form removes the mangle cooldown and causes it to hit two additional targets. On anything smaller than a 3 pull, this is godly for generating aggro. With the cooldown, I wouldn’t rely on it too much though. I usually save mine for bosses. Survival instincts (which also works in cat form) is the feral equivalent to last stand. Same 30% hp bonus, same duration, same cooldown. Barkskin is nothing new, BUT it can now be used in shapeshifted forms. It’s not quite the same bonus as shield wall, but the much lower CD should make up for that. Swipe had its target limit removed, so recently I’ve been spamming that on larger pulls. Hooray AoE aggro! Also, Nature’s Grasp is now a trainable skill (as opposed to a Balance Talent) and can be cast in all forms. Survival of the fittest now reduces crit chance by 6%, eliminating the need for crit reduction from gear.
Overall, I’m content with the feral changes. I did half a kara when I was still cat specced and managed 2nd or 3rd on the boss fights, falling just behind a rogue and/or a mage. I haven’t properly tested out tanking yet aside from running guildies through crypts/sethtekk/MT a ton of times, but we’re doing our first guild Kara on saturday so I’ll post my findings then.
Also, lolretpallies.
So a tree and a cat got into a fight…

… and then a giant owl comes along. But hey, I really don’t need to bore you more than I already have with deciding how to spec (If the title brought you here, i apologize). I’ve been farming AV awaiting for the day my guild decides to say, “hey! let’s go raid___” But I honestly don’t see that happening for a while considering we’ve only got about eight 70s, most of which I rarely see on. But yeah, honor farming! good times. Here’s hoping I don’t have to change weapons until wrath, that thing (merciless gladiator maul) was a bitch to get.
There are definitely some interesting people around the WoW. I was queue’d up for alterac valley and left to get a snack. When I came back, juice (in bear form) was the center of a massive druid gangbang. I’m now convinced that nelf druids are the biggest whores in flyff…
Flyff! Haven’t been on in a few weeks, but, according to some sources, I’m really not missing anything. That is unless you include numerous server crashes, cash shop updates, and 1337 haxorz. I figured I’d just give my account away, but I found out that v12 info is starting to be released. So i suppose I can wait around until that to determine who gets to take care of (or rape) my account. I’m really not expecting much though. For those who choose to avoid officials like the plague, we’ve been informed of new mobs, a new leveling area (more than likely with CS only access) and a very stupid fucking “lord system.” What is this? Flyff supports communism now? Fuck that shit.
Do what you want ’cause a pirate is free…

Well, I finally hit 70 last week. Started doing dailies, BGs, and running guildies. Speaking of running guildies, we tried 4-manning ramps with an all DPS group. I ended up having to tank and heal in my shitty kitty gear. We wiped. A lot. Eventually we got a proper tank so we got though easy enough after that.
Dailies! Remember your first time to 70 (or 60) when every time you got ganked you’d think “Ah, man. When I get to 70 I’m never gonna ganked.” lol. Quel’danas is a treat. Whenever that gets to shady I wait it out and spend some time farming bloodsail rep. Oh yeah, baby. Pirate suit here I come.
IRL! I moved back to new york and college starts wednesday. Can’t wait to see friends. But then I’ll realize how damn painful this years going to be. And it’s only going to get worse from here. GG.
Myrrr, Imma tree!

After I dinged last night, I respecced (i’m thinking for good) and got some temporary resto gear. Logged in this morning and leveled my professions for a bit. After an hour or so, I ran MT with pugs. I must say, our leader was quite awesome. He gave me some tips when things started getting rough and wasn’t upset when I couldn’t pop a heal in time. He was stoned, but still, awesome guy. And now since I can’t solo, I’ve got willpower to do things outside of WoW (lawl). And lastly, what do you usually do when nabs ask for gold? I was in darkshore (wewt, 26 mining/jewelcrafting) and was tossing out MotWs to anyone passing by and someone PST’d me for gold. I never actually replied, but what would you usually do?
Took my pintail out after a few weeks of collecting dust. My wheels are back to normal. I had a really hard time breaking traction with the bertz wheels on my pintail. Anyhoo, I’m off again to combat atrophy. Later days.
Now what?

Lawl, feral again, but not for long. Our guild is very short on healers so I’ll be resto again in a few days. Today was rather uneventful. Made some gold, half a bar of xp, got ganked a few times; nothing particularly interesting. One of my friends just hit 70 the other day and was faced with an interesting dilemma: When he’s running around helping guildies out with quests, should he gank on site or let the horde quest? Everyone’s (including mine) immediate reaction was “Gank,” but I started wondering. There were quite a few times when a 70 horde passing by was nice enough to pull off an aggro when I was tanking too many as a cat, and another time when I got mind controlled and buffed. I suppose if it were me, i’d wait for any signs of hostility. Or maybe it’ll just depend on the mood.
Outside of WoW, there’s not much going on. When you live where I live, there rarely is (which, I may add, can get depressing). I suppose I’m just about ready to go back to college and be around people again. I got a bit of skating in. I switched the wheels on my pintail(74mm s9) and humu(60mm bertz). I noticed no difference so i guess this is all moot. I think tomorrow i’ll take a leveling break and get some sliding in. Summer’s almost over and I still haven’t found any really good hills.
Welcome!

Hullo thar! I noticed quite a bit of WoW blogs and figured I’d start one for all the crazy adventures on my druid and billposter. For those of you wondering about wtf is next to my night elf in the header, that’s my billposter from Flyff. She’s here because they both play the same role. Just for the record, I’m a guy and all characters who play a similar role to those two will be female and named guavajuice (hence the fruity name of my blog).
Anyways, i’m off to hunt down a raid group.
